What goes wrong without it
Three ways agents get in each other's way.
01
Two agents build the same thing.
Each one picks up the same job, and an hour later you have two versions and one wasted run.
With Hivemind: agents claim a task before they start editing. A task has one owner, and obvious duplicates are caught the moment they are created.
02
Two agents edit the same file.
One overwrites the other, and nobody notices until something breaks.
With Hivemind: an agent that edits a file holds it until its changes are pushed. Another agent that tries is stopped, and told who has the file and why. Edits made outside the normal edit tools are detected right after and flagged.
03
Merge conflicts pile up.
Agents work from stale copies, and the conflicts land on you.
With Hivemind: fewer of them. Files are held until pushed, and when a teammate's agent pushes a file you are about to edit, your agent is told to pull first. Teams that give each agent its own long-lived branch can still see conflicts when those branches merge.
